RobinTheHood Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 I know, I know...another Slash signature guitar. But this one is pretty sweet. Probably one of the nicest looking Special II models that Epiphone has produced and it comes with the new Ceramic Plus pickups, which I know nothing about. The really cool thing about this guitar, though, is that it comes with the Shadow pickup-ring E-tuner like you see on the Ultra models. Thats is just awesome in and of itself. I dont normally get excited about Les Paul Special II's and signature guitars, but this tuner is such an awesome move for Epiphone to include on a non-Ultra guitar. I really hope that they decide to keep putting these tuners on more models. This would make a great option for any guitar. http://www.zzounds.com/item--EPIENA2
crust Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 Actually, looks like a fine guitar, also with cool accessories. I like the AAA maple top (on an LP Special II) and it is properly priced.
ourtang89 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I have a NEW Les Paul Special II Ltd. in vintage sunburst. Thinking about selling it and pre-ordering this nice work of art. I think this ia a nice move on Epis' part. Love the maple top. I think I'm going to go ahead and pre-order and woryy about selling the other one later.

Looks like a similar top to the Wildkat "natural", which, to me is extremely nice.

Nice guitar you have and love that top also. Epi made a LP Special II in a trans blue, like to have that one also.
crust Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 The blue Epiphone LP Special II Plus Top Limited Edition is a Guitar Center "exclusive" guitar (available, new, only at GC), here's the link. I want one too, and the Slash one also. LOL http://www.guitarcen...497-i1540830.gc 199 bucks
crust Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 first time I have used the "snip tool" to do a screen capture ("freehand") Edited in Photobucket to 1000 pixel (maximum allowable) width
swamprock Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 That Slash model looks nice. I like the black Special II Plus Top a lot, and should have snatched one up when I could. I still might, and do the same mods to it as my 1995 Special II (SH-6 bridge, stock SAM SUNG neck, 50s out-of-phase wiring, new nut, tuners, etc. etc. etc...).
EpiEric Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Seems like a very good value for the money. For only $30 more than a regular Special II you're getting a flame veneer, bound body, and the Shadow tuner. Looks really nice, too.
RobinTheHood Posted May 2, 2014 Author Posted May 2, 2014 Apparently, and despite being listed on ZZ Sounds, this guitar is still in Epiphone's "pending" category. Lets hope that they follow through with this one. It seems like a great guitar.
Graphic Autist Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 At $200, this looks to be my next guitar. I had heard the tentative release date was late June, but since hearing that, I had heard it will be in September. Does anyone know when it will actually go on sale? Thanks in advance!
Dennis G Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 It's funny (weird?) that my most inexpensive Epi (elec anyway) is the only one with F hole binding: I have an Elitist Casino, Dot, and the Wildkat. Kat has binding.
