Brytam Posted September 20, 2014 Share Posted September 20, 2014 Sorry to hear this. I knew him personally years ago as a teenager. His son, George the "V" & I used to sing together. I remember for one of George V's birthdays, he paid for us to record 4 of our songs at Arthur Smith studios in Charlotte, NC. That was my first experience in a recording studio & in 1976, at 16 years of age, it was a big deal. I still have one of the original reel-reels from that session. Tracks still sound warm from those all-analog machines! George the IV was a very kind man, a great father & of course, a great singer/songwriter. I lost touch with him as well as his son George V after high school, but I understand George V has done pretty well in his own right in Nashville. Thanks for sharing.
