Idaho
I recently came by a vintage L1 flattop from 1930. It's a 12 fret with the tobacco sunburst nitrocellulose finish. It was smudged, a bit grimy in places and the fretboard had obviously never been treated, with light buildups of gunk under the strings and right next to the frets. After speaking to one of the guitar specialists in the local non-chain music store, I purchased the 3 product kit being reviewed here. He specifically reassured me that the polish in this kit was formulated to be compatible with the old nitrocellulose finishes. First, I polished the body, back of the neck and the headpiece with the high gloss polish. That's been three or four weeks ago. The polish really handled the smudges and grime and the guitar now has a nice high gloss, which shows off the beautiful gradation of colors in the tobacco sunburst and gleams in the light over the dark sides and back of the instrument. The polish is not heavy nor prone to smudges. I doubt there'd be much if any build up of polish if it's used judiciously. I'm satisfied that infrequent and frugal use of this product will do nothing to harm the L1 and will keep it looking its best. A few days ago, during a string change, I used the fretboard conditioner. It does not put a finish on the wood. It merely moisturizes and cleans it. I'm happy with it and will be using it on an as-needed basis. I haven't tried the string cleaner and lube and I doubt I will. I just wipe the strings down with a soft, old bandana after a playing session and change them when the tone loses some of its depth. In summary, I'm happy with the way these products performed for me, on my guitar.

HEADKNOCKER
I bought the three pack & here's my opinion.. The Guitar Polish is Great Stuff, I have another bigger bottle of the same sauce.. The Fretboard Conditioner IMO is worthless, Lemon Oil is far superior.. The String Cleaner stinks, smells like vinegar but did wipe off some funk from the strings..
