a j45 doing its job

I like the sound of this j45..

Not the 'cannon' or bluegrass machine that lots seem to be searching for.

I'm thinking it's a string thing , and he certainly has a soft attack... The plectrum is coming into play here sound wise.

Just my thoughts , possibly rubbish. I'd be interested to hear of any you guys thoughts on the sound he's getting...

Wow! Both sound perfect and made for each other! His voice was always my favorite of the Gomez crew... This sound reminds of when someone once told me that you really play a guitar with your right hand not your left ( I know its both, but...) his way of subtlety attacking the strings is lovely in an organic sort of way.

Really nice that they mic the J-45 rather than using an awful piezo pickup. I approve.

You weren't kidding about the voice. Nearly knocked me off my chair. I would want a little more guitar in the mix to support a voice like that, I should think. Usually it's the opposite with these young folks, though--too much guitar and not enough voice. It's a fine line! Probably better off with too much voice. (I just really like acoustic guitars.)
