johnnyvn
Hi guys, I was reading a Tonequest review of the Epi Casino, and they were pointing out that replacing pickups, pots, etc. wasn't easy on Elitist Casino's. The article was from 2011. I wonder, has construction of the ECasino's changed at all over the years? I am buying an Elitist and was thinking of hot-rodding it a bit (or not), depending on how I feel when I get it. Any thoughts would be appreciated! LPS1976
in my opinion, changing out electronics on any hollow or semi-hollow isn't easy. the electronics are pretty decent on the Elitist Casino. I'm a big fan of the Gibson P-90's in this guitar. I think the construction has been fairly consistent. The same factory has been making them. wingman180
I have a 2010 Elitist and really like the P90's. The fit and finish is of course stellar. Better than my 2007 Gibson 335. Experiment as you wish but it is hard to come up with better P90 style pickups in my opinion.
kidblast
Elitists are equipped with Gibson USA made pickups as far as I am aware. My Elitist Chet Atkins is, and they are great. No need to change the ones in mine.
wiggy
One thing I would seriously council is, if you are going to swap out either the pickups or loom on ANY semi or hollow body then it makes massive sense to fit the loom with some form of quick connect. That way if you ever feel the need to swap out the pickups down the line it is a 5 minute job rather than a couple of hours of swearing and frustration. Actually I would suggest that once you've got a good wiring loom in ANY guitar then quick connects are the way to go.

johnnyvn
^-- Wiggy nails it. Thanks, guys. I just may leave the Gibby P90's in there. Should know tomorrow (my NGD!). One thing I've read is that the bridge pickup on Elitist Casino's is set too low and should be shimmed up. Any thoughts about that out there? Another thing I've read is that the bridge itself could stand to be upgraded. Thoughts? But most importantly, one thing I am definitely going to do is add a Bigsby. Just can't live without them! kidblast
bigsby -> YES! I think you'll have to experiment with pup height. Often times it is not a bad thing to have some space there.
