Good day all,

I recently aquired an 1993 Epiphone Emperor II Joe Pass MIK Samick plant model in the Cherryburst color(I know, I know pics to follow)

i have noticed that the binding has turned a beautiful yellow hue color and am curious if Samick back then used a poly finish or laquered?

anyone know?

thanks

Roy

Poly. Aside from vintage Epiphones, only rare limited edition or custom Epiphones use lacquer. The John Lennon Casinos are one such exception. Most of the Elitists even use a poly finish.

That's a sho' nuff purty one! I prefer the more subdued burgundy color on that burst to the brighter cherry, at least on the JP. Mine is a Samick from 2001, and is one of my favorite guitars.

Interestingly enough on the heel of the guitar it reads emperor VS..vintage sunburst?

I just think someone at the factory put the wrong label on.....

Indeed. Curious what the lable inside the guitar says . . . <_<
