Two great guitars - which one to keep? (Poll)

Hard to say without playing them.

I would just go with the one with the sweetest sound.

Other than that, based on your pictures, I would choose the Sheraton because...

1/ It has much better upper fret access.

2/ I prefer the sound of Humbuckers to P90s.

Big thanks to all of you guys! I can't explain why, but the more people recommend to keep the Sheraton the more I want the Casino. Maybe I'm kind of weird. Maybe it's because the Casino is brand new while the Sheraton is mine for a while now. Or it's just because I'm seeing way more red guitars than blue ones. :-k

Does it change anybody's mind, when I tell you that the Sheraton had a broken neck about a year ago? [crying] It's professionally fixed and beside that it's in very good condition.

Personally, I'd never buy any guitar that has had a broken neck no matter how well repaired. Illogical I know but just a personal policy.

Totally agree. That additional info makes it an easy choice. Although you might not get much by selling a repaired-neck Sherrie. Might as well keep them both. [smile]

If the repair was done well, not a major change in opinion (I'm one who voted Sheraton).

As for the "red vs. blue" issue. To me, the black and blue Casino is very identifiable with it's signature artist.

I like the idea of making my own mark, as it were, so I'm not too fond of using a signature guitar that is too

highly recognizable with it's artist. Like my recent purchase of a PRS SE Bernie Marsden. People don't see it and think,

"Oh, you're playing Bernie's guitar."

...and that's my two cents. [smile]

I think you may have a hard time getting fair value for the Sheraton in the case of a repaired neck. A repaired neck is the first thing I look for on these guitars. All the more reason to keep it and sell the Casino, or better yet keep both of them if at all possible. My 2 cents. Jp
