Lespaulist
Hi Everyone, I'm hoping you could help me date this Epiphone Casino. Im being told that is a Japanese Casino but I thought the Japanese Casino's had a 6 digit serial number? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. AldoMcD1
Some additional pictures would help, but initially I'd say it's a Japanese Matsumoko made Casino dating from December 1981. My 1983 Japanese Sheraton has the same style of 7 digit serial number so that's what I'm basing it on (although I may be wrong). 1 = Year (1981); 12 = Month (December); 0925 = Production number. LPS1976
AldoMcD1 could be right. I'm not sure. here's what guitar dater says: Guitar Info Your guitar was made in Korea December c.1991 Production Number: 0925

AldoMcD1
Some of the other members should be able to confirm, but I'm 99% sure this is a 1981 Casino. It has the large pots with gold volume / tone controls and the brown / tan label within the 'F' hole. The 'E' truss rod cover (not pictured) on the headstock should also have 2 screws as opposed to the 3 screws on the Korean models.
Parabar
Yup --- Matsumoku. The cutaway "ears" or "horns" have a distinctive shape that's slightly different from the later Samick ones.
Lespaulist
Thanks for the replies. I tried looking through sold listings and eBay and haven;t been able to come up with the going rate for these guitars. Anyone have an idea what these are currently selling for? Yup --- Matsumoku.
