Shortscaler Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 What does the "T" stand for in every 2016 model Musicians Friends offer? Like Gibson 2016 Firebird T Vintage Sunburst or Gibson 2016 Flying V Pro T cause MF doesn't give a clue and Gibson has a history of over simplification, ala EB, SG, TB, etc. thank you in advance.
Rabs Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Traditional... To make a point about dumping the 2015 specs (such as a wider neck) and going back to more traditional specs... There is a rumour that Gibson may yet release a secondary line up WITH auto tuners and stuff.. but nothing has appeared yet.. I have a feeling if they are going to do that we will see them at the winter NAMM show.

It is as though Gibson is bickering with its past. Thanks for the clarification.
Rabs Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Really. Okay. So, "Gibson 2016 Les Paul Traditional Premium Finish T"... It is as though Gibson is bickering with its past. Thanks for the clarification. If you look on Amazon for Gibson 2016 you will see the official garb The 2016 Traditional Series from Gibson USA represents a comprehensive regrouping of classic specifications for those who appreciate old-school looks and feel in their electric guitars, and few models better encompass the marriage of history and innovation than the Les Paul Standard 2016 T. The guitar has a carved plain or Grade-AAA maple top, a mahogany back with modern weight relief, a glued-in mahogany neck witih traditional width and heel. A traditionally cut Graph Tech nut, and a thick, dark, one-piece rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays. The neck has a Slim Taper profile while the fingerboard has a compound radius designed for easy chording down low and unbridled bending up high. The two Burstbucker Pro pickups have coil splitting on push-pull volume knobs for single-coil tones, and locking Grover tuners provide rock-solid performance with a traditional look
HEADKNOCKER Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Mental Note: To Self T = Traditional I also figured they gotta get a way to use up all those Tronical Tuners somewhere..
'Scales Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 ...hopefully they put them on all mid price and up Epiphones - a decent affordable guitar with robo-tuner as well - they'd sell truckloads (shiploads even) and a bunch of Gibson owners would probably pick up an Epi as well just to have a decent enough guitar with a g-force without having to have it their Gibson Les Paul.
