I all does anyone know if I can replace a brass zero nut with a normal nut.

And how will that effect the lower frets and everything else.

Or should I just get the titanium nut from Gibson

Thanks

Yes, you can put a regular nut on. If frets are level, no problem.

The zero fret/nut is a great idea. Do you have one of these guitars already? If so, you can probably see the advantage of being able to adjust action from both ends of the neck.

Brass is too soft. That was the only mistake. Its easier, faster & cheaper to get the titanium replacement.

I would try the brass first, and get the titanium if it doesn't work.

If I personally had one and found they didn't really work as well, I would just have a metal one (brass?) made to fit in the slot and still be adjustable. New nuts require widdling anyway.

But yea, nuts are easily replaced. No reason a regular nut couldn't be used.

get the titanium nut before you screw up everything by putting on a regular nut and taking away the awesome feature of it being adjustable. I am confident you will love it then.

i think a regular nut is thinner that the zero fret nut and you might have an ugly space where you took off the zero fret nut by doing this
