Dodger11 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Played my first gig as part of a duo last week and have got myself a permanent slot - over the moon! Can't wait to play again this week
dhanners623 Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Cool. If you're paying attention, you will learn more in 30 minutes of playing for an audience than you'd learn in six months of playing by yourself in the living room.
olie Posted August 28, 2016 Posted August 28, 2016 Hey Twin Cities-Good work guys.I'm originally from just north of you in Thunder Bay and I worked in a coffee-house where I met a guy you remind me of-Neil Young. I hope you don't take offense to the comparison. Good luck with your music.Thanks.
sparquelito Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Congratulations, Dodger11. There truly is nothing like it. That first plugging-in and tuning up. The connection with the audience. Seeing faces light up when you hit it just right. Getting comfortable, finding your groove, and delivering the goods to an appreciative crowd. Please keep it up, and never stop. Even when, many years later, they tell you that it's time to hang it up. That's all rubbish. It's never time to hang it up. :)
Dodger11 Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 Thanks fellas just did 3 gigs in 2 days and am loving it. Still finding my feet but at the age of 45 I'm so grateful for the chance to get out there at last. Even feel guilty taking money as I'm enjoying it so much
sparquelito Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Even feel guilty taking money as I'm enjoying it so much Oh, after getting short-changed and lied-to by one or two pub owners, you'll get over such feelings as guilt or remorse. Take the money. :)
