The serial numbers will verify the year, not the value.
j45nick
"S" prefix says 1959. That looks like a very nice guitar, but he's delusional on the price. Try about half what he's asking, maybe a little more if the condition is what it appears to be.

flatbaroque
The fact that it was owned by Mr Disney would add greatly to the value.I believe it's the guitar he wrote" when you wish upon a star" on.I think the seller may indeed be Jiminy Cricket. MissouriPicker
Unless one is a collector, I just don't see all the hype placed on old guitars. I know there's a market for them, but the prices are ridiculous. For 500 I'd look at it. For 3-grand you can buy one-hell-of-a-new-guitar and it won't have all the inherit issues of an instrument nearly 60 years old. Just my view,

Uh, he didn't exactly say the guitar was owned by Walt Disney. I think he was referring to his Uncle Walt. Or maybe my Uncle Walt. Or maybe yours...... Mojorule
I do believe that Uncle Walt fashioned the neck from Pinocchio's nose. When buying on CraigsList, always let your conscience be your guide.
Willie King
Well one could wish upon a star for the asking price, but yes at half the price, it would have to be really nice. There are guitars going begging that are newer and sound great.
