Larryl
GO 6282 Was this a Guitar Center special run? Anybody know anything about it based on the serial number? Thanks~!
bobv
Yes the "GO" in the serial number is a Guitar Center 1960 special run. Custom shop quality without the "Historic" fine points like CTS pots and bumblebee capacitors. They generally came in cool colors like lemonburst and honeyburst that you wouldn't find in the same year's Historic offerings. There's a post somewhere on this forum with an otherwise impossible to find FAQ from the Gibson site that poo poos them as not being techinically "Historic Reissues" but if you like plain-tops and thin necks they're really hard to beat. Tim Plains
Unless GO serial numbers are any different, it's a 2006. Either the 282nd GO built in 2006 or the 282nd 1960 reissue, which would include the regular 1960 flame top RO. They're not a special run, just a Guitar Center exclusive. They're made every year, I believe. Bob, some year GOs may have different caps. I remember reading something along those lines but don't quote me on that. FennRx
after 2005, the G0s have the same pots/caps as "regular" Historics
