Dave F
I thought the SJ was supposed to have a bound fingerboard. Plus the Banner logo with 20 frets?
tpbiii
Yea, that may be a fine guitar but it is very unlike the one Woody played. His was most probably an early 1943 batch 910 guitar -- rosewood back and sides, banner headstock, etc. It also killed Fascists . Let's pick, -Tom
62burst
Yes, most likely a fine reissue, but Woody got Gibsoned with a mix of features. I too, would think the more important one would be the rosewood b & s. Also recall, +/- ‘46 SJ’s did not have bound necks. But it would be a nice touch if they included with the re-issue the “This guitar kills fascists” sticker in the case pocket. thegreatgumbino
I love the look of the unbound neck on an SJ like the early ones. We all know Gibson makes whatever they want and names it whatever they want. Doesn't have to make sense to be a great guitar. By all accounts I've read, these are great guitars and they don't come up for sale often.
