Homz
Neil takes to much heat for his lead work. I love it. Makes me believe anyone can be a rock star. What are your opinions on the lead work in this link?
MikeRom
Not a fan of Neils lead work. In fact, for the Neil Young or Buffalo Springfiled songs my band plays I let the other guitar playeri n the band , who isn't a very good lead player and he'll be the 1st to admit, take those leads, and I'll be darned if he doesn't nail it everytime. :- I also remember that R&R Hall of Fame mess where he palyed on stage with Page and Plant. Not a memerable moment for the right reasons thats for sure.
Homz
I just not so sure the difficulty level is of any concern. It's more about the way it works with the song. At least it is for me. Perhaps that wasn't the best solo to post, or you could be correct. Either way, I love Neil Young.
Thundergod
I mean no offense to Neil and his fans but I don't think he even nails his own solos at all this days. i could be wrong and be only finding youtube videos where he doesnt...
Homz
That was kind of the point he takes a lot of heat for the solos, but people still love him. It is a bit confusing. I am trying to understand why he so loved and yet his solos are so what ever you call them.
MikeRom
I think it's his song writing that people love not his lead work so much. He's got some great songs 4 sure.
retrosurfer1959
Young's guitar work is kinda like Dylan's singing they both kinda of remind me of the old stories about sausage I don't really want to see what goes in to making them them but love the end result.
