Gibson Fretboard Conditioner

Murph

Bench Tested.

Just got some for my daughters '08 Fireburst Lester.

I'm thinking my '07 ES-339 might need a drink?

Made In U.S.A.

What is it?

Murph.

Mostly likely mineral oil, naptha (lighter fluid) as primary ingredients and a few odd bits. As are most of them.

Lemon oil polishes are, for the most part, mineral oil.

Most of the string cleaners are heavier on the naptha (as an oil remover/solvent) and lighter on the mineral oil (which remains behind and lubricates the strings and helps prevent rusting).

Gibson recommends using naptha to clean rosewood fretboards that have a lot of grime and oily dirt, followed by mineral oil to seal it a bit.

You don't want to use *real* lemon oil (from processed lemon peels) for a fretboard by the way; that's not what it's for. It's mostly for cooking. Rosewood oil is a completely different thing and also not recommended for rosewood fretboards. It's used in the perfume industry.

Ok I'm going to keep my avatar and change my name to "WorseBluesPlayer."

No-one could copy my avatar unless they bought a Mesa Blue Angel, then bought a "Boogie" badge, and stuck it on a road case with an ES-339 in a Hercules stand, with a Boss tuner and a Michelob on top, in a bar in Mayfield Kentucky.

I don't think......

Unless they just copied it?
