USA Made Epiphone Casino Vintage Sunburst Color Variations

Has anyone noticed there are some significant color variations among some of these new USA made Epiphone Casinos. The Epiphone website shows a 3 color Sunburst but I've noticed as you shop online and look at review videos it varies. Some of them look like 2 color bursts and some seems to have the red added in as well.

Am I crazy? Is Gibson artisans just making the decision to do 2 or 3 colors on the fly as they assemble these or did they maybe start 2 color and are now 3 color? Anyone know?

Thanks

The new ones listed by Epiphone USA are different than mine.. Mine was ordered a year before they actually Shipped.

On the new ones the Royal Tan no longer have Nickel Chrome Pickup Covers & who knows what else? Like I said above, Gibson reserves the right to make changes at will…

Luckily, the Specs for mine are in my File… I doubt you can find them anymore… I’m not going to bother with a search as you can’t buy those exact Guitars new anymore anyway….

To the OP…  Sunbursts do vary somewhat.. Always have.. Different pieces of Wood I believe has something to with it as grains of wood vary & the Burst can vary partly because of that.. Different Painters have slightly different techniques & levels of experience.. Supply issues could also have something to do with it..

As an example, the Nickel Chrome Dogear Pickup are made by an outside Supplier in Runs periodically.. When they aren’t available to Gibson they make a change as I in the Royal Tan USA Casinos that now have the black Plastic Covers. That’s just one example but changes can & do occur.. I’m sure Paint can be another…

I hope you are able to find one in a finish you like.. The USA Casino’s compare with the best of the best! Outstanding Guitars!
