LesPaul117
I was looking on musiciansfriend and I saw 2 versions of the les paul 1959. One said standard, the other said VOS. What is the difference? Does the standard have a random flame? Is the long neck tenon in the VOS/ standard? Custom Admin
they are exactly the same thing except that the VOS guitar has a lightly aged finish and the other has a glossy finsh.
Tim Plains
No such thing as a plain top '59, is there? I've seen '58 & '60, but not '59.
Custom Admin
not in 2007/2008...we have done plaintop R9s, but that was several years ago.
cheese
OS vs Historic: just read an article in the German Magazin Gitarre & Bass: in this article Udo Pfeiffer compared a 59' VOS 2007 and a historic original '59 (!). He came to the conclusion, that never before such good replication was made (optical & sound...) but he complaint mainly that the 50s wiring schematic is not being used? Is there a reason why ? (the tone condensers are wired to the input of the volume potentiometer instead to the output). After adding real Bumblebees and a ABR-1 Bridge from 1960, the VOS was matched to the original perfectly)
LesPaul117
Does the standard have a random flame, and the VOS a set one? Is the 58 vos a flat top and the standard...not flat top? Thx for the reply.

LesPaul117
I know but how do i get a "monster top" online?
Custom Admin
i belive dealers are allowed to send you photos of guitars privately, but they cannot post them online. guess you8'll just need to contact some dealers and see if they'll work with you on this...
