Scientific study

Over the weekend I worked hard on a very scientific study of tonewoods, pickups and amplifiers. I wanted to test the interaction of different pickups and tonewoods with different tube types.

The test gear was:

1990 Les Paul Standard with 490r/490t pups

1990 Fender American Telecaster plus with Lace Sensor Pickups

2002 Gibson ES135 with '57 classic pups

2006 Gibson SG Classic with P90s

Mid-'90s Marshall JTM 30 with 6L6WGC tubes in the power section

Early '90s Mesa Boogie Blue Angel with EL84s and 6V6s in the power section

After extensive stress testing of the equipment, I have come to the following conclusion.

YES

Amazing!

My own studies, playing every possible note on the fretboard of my LP Studio several times through my Blackstar HT-5S leads me to the only possible conclusion:

YES

This high degree of correlation between independent, but related, scientific studies should leave no doubt at all.

Oh, and I did have a control group consisting of nobody playing none of the notes on the fretboard several times using no amp.
