From 1902 to the late 1920s, The Gibson, inlaid in pearl and placed at a slant, is found on the peghead. In the late 1920s, this style of logo was changed to having The Gibson read straight across the peghead as opposed to being slanted. Flat top acoustics production began at approximately this time and these instruments generally do not have The on the inlay, it just has Gibson in script writing. By 1933, this was the established peghead logo for Gibson. Just before WWII, Gibson began making the lettering on the logo thicker and this became standard on most prewar instruments. Right after WWII, the styling of the logo remained but it became slanted once again. In 1947, the logo that is still in use today made its debut. This logo has a block styling with the G having a tail, the i dot is touching the G, the b and o are open and the n is connected at the bottom. The logo is still slanted. By 1951, the dot on the i was no longer connected to the G. In 1967, the logo styling became even more squared (pentographed) with the b and o becoming closed and the i dot being removed. In 1970, Gibson replaced the black tinted piece of wood that had been used on the peghead face with a black fiber that the logo and other peghead inlay were placed into. With the change in peghead facing came a slightly smaller logo lettering. In 1972, the i dot reappeared on the peghead logo. In 1981, the n is connected at the top of the o. There are a few models through the years that do not follow this timeline, ie: reissues and limited editions, but most of the production instruments can be found with the above feature changes. In pratica il logo 'Nuovo' quello block per intenderci, è stato introdotto nel 1947. G con la coda, il puntino della i è ATTACCATO alla G, la b e la o sono APERTE e la n è attaccata al resto in BASSO. A partire dal 1951, il puntino della i viene staccato. Nel 1967 diventa molto più squadrato, b ed o CHIUSE e SPARISCE il puntino della i. 1970, cambia il materiale della faccia anteriore della paletta e il logo diventa leggermente più piccolo. 1972 RIAPPARE il puntino della i. 1981, la n è connessa al resto ( alla o ) IN ALTO ... Ripeto, le Reissue, esulano, chiaramente dagli standard di normale produzione. Dall'81 in poi non ho più niente di certo. E le variazioni sono moltissime, ti assicuro. Il logo della foto di Mountainmen è esattamente uguale al mio con la "b" e la "o" chiuse ed il puntino della "i" piuttosto vicino alla lettera. Anche la mia è una gibson les paul custom del 95. Quindi appurato che non è un tarocco...GIUSTO???? Black.Sheep Posted June 7, 2009 Share Posted June 7, 2009 ...allora, io a parte una custom dell'83 ho anche una custom del 1995 nera.....ovviamente Gibson e originalissima fino all'ultima vite anche la mia presenta il logo Gibson vecchio anni 80primi 90 , squadrato con "b" e "o" chiuse...oltre al "rombo" custom più grosso adiacente alle basi delle meccaniche e al copri truss rod.. ma si possono trovare anche custom anni '94'95 già con il logo Gibson nuovo e il rombo custom un po' più piccolo e centrale nella paletta...(stile "nuovo" ma anche anni 50) ..è tutto normale! questo accade perchè non sono così precisi costanti ed uniformi nella produzione , è può accadere che usino della parti al posto di altre o dettagli come i sopracitati leggermente diversi...dipende anche da cos'hanno sotto mano...ma è tutto ok. non farti seghe mentali!
