heymisterk Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Hi All, I have a chance to buy a late-'80s SG Reissue for a reasonable price. My only hesitation is that I've heard some negative things about Gibson's QC during this era. Any thoughts? Thanks!

hbomb76 Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 The AUTHENTICITY of the "reissue" is something I have always griped about with the late-80's SG-62 (didn't become the SG '61 till 1991 or 1992...same basic concept though...and if you've read ANY of my posts you know authentic reissuing is something I fuss about with all Gibson's "attempts" at "reissues"), but I used to have one and I can tell you it's a solid guitar. If you've got the chance to get one on the cheap (or on the "reasonable") it's a healthy purchase. Enjoy! H-Bomb
