daveinspain
Hey Gang.... Here are a selection of photos I took at the Joe Bonamassa concert this past Thursday night... Was a great concert!! If you didn't see the I did ckeck it out too.... His rig... His pedals... His guitars... Guitar he opened the show with. He only used the top neck so I think he just used it for impact value when he came walking out on stage... It worked. Working a Theremin he had on stage "a la Jimmy Page" very cool!! First Les Paul he pulled out was with a Bigsby His next axe was a Music Man... Very nice guitar. Next up was a very sweet gold top... Keeps getting better... A beauty of a burst!! He did an acoustic number by himself, sort of Spanish style, the crowd loved it! Guitar he had the most fun with.... He did the encore with his gold top... See the link to the video in the top of this post. Enjoy!!
NeoConMan
No kidding! Great stuff Dave! We saw him about three years ago in a Phoenix club called the Rhythm Room. Small place, man he tore it up! Spoke with him briefly, the Mrs. was duly impressed. I see his guitar choices are much more traditional now - VERY cool stuff. Then, he was using all kinds of custom built stuff by Gigliotti and such in addition to a couple Fenders. Had the plexiglass attenuator in front of his rig then too. I don't care WHAT kind of music you like or guitar you play, you will LOVE seeing him live.

It worked. Six strings on BOTH necks? I noticed the third pick with his guitar rack, appears to be the same piece - only six tuners visible on each neck. Maybe six more stick out to the rear of the headstock, eh? I have a 50's Gretsch lap steel that Joe was playing at my dealer's store. I was thinking of buying it when the wife got it as a Christmas gift. Later I was in the store and Mike told me I almost missed it. Joe had been in the store tearing it up on that same lap steel, but decided not to buy it. Seems he already has more than he needs.... :-)

I remember thinking, "Robben Ford has to follow this?" Robben held his own. JB was magnificent. Played "Dazed and Confused" and "Just Got Paid," and a lot of stuff off of the Slow Gin disc. You had a great spot too, Dave. Bet it was inspiring.

Play two songs with different tunings without having to change guitars... What else could it be???
NeoConMan
Yeah, he uses a lot of different tunings. Wonder if it's a baritone?

Riffster
Excellent picks Dave, thanks for posting them. Yeah' date=' he uses a lot of different tunings.Wonder if it's a baritone? [/quote'] Not a baritone, but it does look like different scale lenghts, the top neck has 24 frets, the lower neck does not.
