Old Deadhead
I have a YamahaBB200h neck through bass my son gave me that sounds and plays great. Dont forget to get a true bass amplifier. I've been very happy with my Ampeg BA115.
Riverside
Well' date=' just as with other guitars, you'll prolly need/want a bunch of them. I have Fenders - a MIA Jazz, a '50s classic P, and a Squier fretless Jazz. I want more. I saw a Schecter Stargazer listed on line - I'd like to see it in person, because it looks like it might be a pretty versatile piece. http://www.themadape.com/Schecter_Stargazer_4_String_Bass_p/stargazer-4-bass.htm [/quote'] Update - I saw one of these at the local GC today. I'm sorry to say it was a pretty poorly-produced piece. The neck joint looked like I fitted it freehand with a bandsaw, and the holes for the string-through deal looked like I freehanded it with the DeWalt while balancing it on the bumper of the truck. Sawdust and wood spurs everywhere. Didn't even bother to plug it in - for the same $700, I can think of plenty of better choices, not the least of which might very well be a couple of Squiers. They're just fine for the money.
