Andre S
Has there ever been a model with p-90's?
MojoRedFoot
In the mid 80s there was an explorer w/ 3 P90s. They pop up on ebay once in a while.

Andre S
Come again? Are looking to buy one or just asking if there was one? uh, kinda both, although more just seeing if there is one, because later on my list of guitars i would like to own ,is an explorer with P-90s, my first reply was more of a thinking out loud kinda thing. Not looking to buy yet. I've one or two guitars that will be cleared off my list first,

MojoRedFoot
And of course they are available with or without trem. I guess they weren't too popular. To my knowledge this model was only available for less than 5 years.
Riffster
I love P90's but don't like the way they look on an Explorer.
MojoRedFoot
I love P90's but don't like the way they look on an Explorer. Yeah, they don't really look mean or threatening in any way and let's face it. The explorer is mean and threatening. Maybe it's the cream color. MojoRedFoot
Mojo...do you have locking tuners on your explorer? What tuning do you use and string guage? Yes, black Sperzels. I use Ernie Ball Regular Slinkies. 10-46. The green pack. Also check the Other guitar forum: explorers...I posted a question for you.
lowb5str
An Explorer with P90's looks (and this is NOT a negative, just a descriptive) to ME like someone drained the METAL out of it. I would be inclined to use it to play tele/strat-type twangy music. Maybe there's a place for it: country-metal?
MojoRedFoot
Mojo... What tuning do you use and string guage? Forgot to add, my explorer is standard tuning. Check the strap button relocation thread. I posted a question specifically for you, Gary
