Ronnie Robinson
The SG classics look like great guitars and I would certainly buy one, they are part of rock and roll history but why are they not available in the UK ? Whats Gibsons reasoning around this? These guitars have a great reputation and would sell well but instead Gibson insists on bringing out all sorts of faded this or faded that or weird guitars like the Zoot SG or remember the New Centuary ? Lowdown
Hey brother! Don't you be putting down the faded series[angry] But to answer you're question...maybe these are solely a US distribution series. If so,some are bound to jump on over to the other side sooner or later...
Dub-T-123
I could be wrong but I believe the Classic is a Guitar Center (& it's associated companies) exclusive. It was discontinued for a while and brought back as a GC exclusive. Obviously if this is true, this would explain why they aren't sold new in the UK. The Classic is an awesome SG. I wish I had one. Duende
Hi Ronnie Nice to meet you firstly ; they were available when they first did the rounds a few years back (2006?). I still kick myself as Peter Cooks in Hanwell, London, were doing them on special offer for only £530!! A lot of places had them and then I believe they were discontinued[crying] That is all I know.
