bscha
I was curious to know if anyone with a new J-45 happened to take note of what gage string came on the guitar. Thanks in advance. I did not see this information in the web site.

Taylor Player
What modoc said. You certainly can put 13's on it if you want, but I love the way a nice set of Elixir 12's in Phospher Bronze sound on a J45.
ajsc
I'm with Taylor Player on this one. I put some D'addarrio's on mine, in order to save money. It's not that I don't like them, but I do like the Elixir's better. I mostly like the way the Elixir's feel, compared to others.

Hoyt
I went many years feeling like Elixirs were inferior to uncoated strings on guitars I've had in the past -- Martins, Santa Cruz, Huss and Dalton, etc. However, when I got my J45 TV, I tried Elixir Nano PB 12s and they just sing and sound so sweet. And yes, they last much longer and the treble strings don't get rusty spots on them. I now use them on my Blues King and mandola as well. The Elixirs on a Gibson are perfect for me now. Haven't even looked at another set of strings since I began using the Elixirs.
bscha
Thanks for the info. I have to agree. I currently have Elixir Nano PB 12's on. I replaced the 13's on the same brand. The both sound great, but the lights are a little easier on the fingers.
