Thundergod
Ok guys, out of boredom I changed the saddles of my new tele to graph tech saddles. Here's what they say: 1-better sustain 2-a little brighter tone 3-less tuning issues 4-never break a string Here's what I think: 1-desirable 2-not needed in a telecaster, in fact it could ruin such a twangy guitar 3-desirable 4-desirable but the bridge is not the only part where strings break Here's what I found out: 1-I haven't noticed a change in sustain, the guitar already had lots of it and it doesn't seem to have changed for the good: looks like now it sustais a little less! nothing to worry about tho. 2-No change in tone, I recorded the same lick before and after the change, new strings for both recordings. 3-lots of tuning issues at first but right now it looks and feels stable... lets wait and see what happens when the strings are stretched 4-a string broke, but at the tuner (damn locking things, I turned one of them too hard and it caused it, I'm not yet acustomed to sperzel stuff) All in all a nice mod, I did it more for the looks than any of the suposedly aded features of graph tech saddles. They look good, I'm liking the look of black on gold more and more with every passing moment. Now for the porn, they are iphone pics so they aren't as great as some pics you see here, but they show the saddles and some of the wood. I'll take proper pics next weekend when my fiance lends me her camera.

Thundergod
So...its nice but not really...neccassry? Not necessary at all... as I said' date=' I didn't notice any major noticeable change in the things they advertise, but they do look good I wouldn't install them on a guitar thinking they'll fix any problem. By the way Dim, those EMG pickups are really something... they sound great and if you lower the volume a little and the tone to 1/2 you get a really nice tone between a p90 and a normal humbucker. Must be beacuse they are active, for normal tele tone I have to take the volume down to 7 or 8. You should open your mind and give them a try sometime, they sound nothing like their humbucker sized brothers (not that I don't like how those sound either!) Thundergod
TG! I love your tele! did you make it yourself? I wish! I had it made by a local luthier that is starting his own brand... he is a great player and will only play his guitars (used to settle for fender custom stuff only). He let me be there for the entire process: chosing wood, cuting, routing, sanding, finishing, freting, and everything else. I took some pics of the process too, he has guys working for him that already know how to do the job, but as he is a close friend he built mine himself. It sounds great and plays great. I think I'll ask him to build a tele like the one John 5 uses next.

milod
Hey, a tele like that could even get to me. <grin> Pretty much standard Fender neck radius???? It looked like it in the pix... Nut and bridge width are pretty much a fender standard sorta thing? m
Thundergod
Indeed, the neck is as close to fender as it could be, the guy took my other telecaster's neck as template. It is really confortable to play, I never imagined I couold become a fan of anything fender, but then again I had played mainly strats and some cheap teles. That said, I still don't like strats much, even if they are higher end fenders...
