Gradey
I believe my 2001 SG Classic is ebony satin. Any way to touch it up? Has scratches and worn thin on the edges when going in and out of the case. Gene
tbonesullivan
those have a pretty thin finish, and I think are designed to look "aged" rather quickly. it's nitro, so you could get a lacquer touch up pen from Stew-mac, but it would dry shiny. Gradey
Thanks. I will just leave it as is for now. The guitar almost looks black from a distance.
jimmiJAMM
Leave it be, man. Those marks give it character.
cwness
I have the same thing happening to my Studio that is 24 years old and at first I was going to tough it up. After thinking about it awhile I decided to leave it because the touch up will cover it up and look good at a distance but up close they usually don't look to good. Now I just tell everybody it's from years on the road. I don't tell them the on the road part was working with my dad in our dusiness and playing in the hotel at night. LOL Another thing is i don't worry so much about scratches now. CW
Gradey
The Gibson hard case is at best ratty, tattered and torn and I like it. I agree the guitar should stay looking it's age. 1962 ES 120TD MOD 2001 SG Classic 2005 Fender Tele 51 Nocasters and 4 way switch. 2008 Fender Surf Green Classic 50's Strat 2009 Washburn D10 Deluxe 1999 Fender P-Bass
