They're claiming it's not the track but they've since changed it, which looks suspect to me. I've watched the videos of the accident and it looks to me like it could have been prevented with a bit of plexi-glass or netting or something. Even just making the sides higher? TommyK Posted February 15, 2010 Share Posted February 15, 2010 Just my pedestrian observation. There didn't appear to be enough retaining wall / guard rail beyond the end of the turn. The IOC is stating that the accident was caused by the luger. I agree.. but he died because of the sudden stop which could have been averted by about three more sheets of plywood.
