Next Rush "Album"

Looks like things are rolling. Here's a recent interview with Neil Peart. This is interesting: "We're thinking of writing and recording a few songs and maybe releasing them, and playing them live, and then going back and doing some more later. We just feel really free (in terms) of what we might do right now."

Even if you're not a Rush fan, what do you think about a band releasing a few tunes at a time, possibly forgoing the entire album concept?

What Caliman said. It also makes some sense from a marketing perspective. In order to stay relevant these days, a constant presence is one of the most important things. If they can get a steady string of singles out of these EPs, and use the EPs as a fresh reason to do live shows, then their fans would hear from them more often, and everyone wins.

Oh, hell yeah. It's a great idea. The "new Rush tracks" thing is pretty much the only thing that had an impact on me, because I don't care how they release new songs, as long as they release them. :-

But yeah, it's actually a pretty good idea to do it this way, from a marketing perspective, as was already mentioned.
