Thundergod
Not that I'm going to do it, just asking. And the reason I ask is because the finish I want isn't offered by gibson, but I want it on a les paul... so I was thinking, maybe I could just buy a vintage mahogany (or whatever it is called now) and sand it down and then refinish it... but, I don't know how to work with nitro (wouldn't even know where to get it to begin with), I have had experience with poly. I could also ask my luthier to make a guitar for me, but then it wouldn't have the gibson name on the headstock and I admit it's something I'd like to have in there. retrosurfer1959
Go for it - it's not like you can hurt the finish on a VM anyway
Silenced Fred
Go for it - it's not like you can hurt the finish on a VM anyway As a VM Owner' date=' I will tell you that you can hurt the finish. I will note your sarcasm though
zigzag
I'm betting you'll be very pleased with a polyurethane finish.
