lespaulj45
This list is unbelievable-its either that the people who respond are tonedeaf or they wouldnt recognize a "great guitarist" if they came up and bit them. I am shocked at this list.
sgman
That list means nothing to me! As has been mentioned already, the list looks like it' been put together by people who have never even picked up a guitar let alone know anything worthwhile. NeoConMan
Do you agree? NO. 1. John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers)- Did some cool stuff' date=' but Number One? WTF? 2. Slash (Guns 'n' Roses)- The ONLY guitar player here with any right to be on the list at all. I like 'im okay. 3. Matt Bellamy (Muse)- Huh? 4. Johnny Marr (The Smiths)- Huh? 5. Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine)- I've NEVER heard a guitar solo of his that did NOT suck. 6. Kirk Hammett (Metallica)- Decent player for sure, but why is he on a Top Ten list? No way in hell. 7. Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead)- I simply don't "get" these guys. Too pretentious, too far up their own ***. 8. Prince- Talented guy, multi-instrumentalist, prolific songwriter, studio whiz, nutty as a sh!t house rat. 9. Jack White (White Stripes) Talented guy. His music is a little too odd for me, but I like him. Just not [i']that[/i] much. 10. Peter Buck (REM) I like him a lot more than I like REM. Good arpeggiated stuff. Stipe is an arteest/moron. Thin_Lizzy
Although most of the list is crap, it's interesting to see Prince on there. Although I don't think much of his music, he's an under-rated guitarist. Listen to the song Bambi from 1979, that's a great solo.
