I love this thing! I put RS pots/caps in it. It was great before but better now.

I think I'm also going to swap the pickups - not because it needs them' date=' just because I want to try some Sheptones/Throbaks.[/quote']

Very nice!!

Wouldn't change the Hardware on mine.

I like the Alnico II Burstbuckers & the way the Pots & Caps respond when rolled off.

Usually all imported goods are subject to VAT at 17% plus possibly import duty on top & also the shipping & insurance costs which for a Guitar from US to UK could be quite substantial.

^ What he said.

The import duty isn't that high but when added to all the rest the total works out somewhere around 25% - 28% premium.

One way to reduce this which has worked for me in the past if you can get the sender to do it is to declare a much lower value on the Customs declaration.

For example pretend the Guitar is a 2nd hand EPI instead of a VOS! LOL!

Thus 28% of £350 = [biggrin] [biggrin] [biggrin]

hey bucketbot

the logic of your argument falls over if the guitar is lost/stolen in transit

you only get the insurance pay out on the declared value

you lose a $4000 guitar and they pay you $800... that is not a very good deal

any respectable shop will not devalue the guitar ... they face serious penalties if they do

All very true.......like many things in life it would have risks attatched.

It's for you to decided if the risk is worth the potential saving of course.....was just one possible solution. [blink]

Clearly you personally do not think it is worth the risk.
