The vocalist was awful, and made it painful to get through the entire song. I also thought the tempo on amphetamines was a little odd.

mm I thought she sounded a bit like Maria Mauldair or Iris DeMent. Taj's version has always been my fav.

Her tone and timbre were pleasant enough, it's her pitch that's terrible. She's sliding around trying to find the notes, especially on the last word of a line of which the note is held. She starts off about a step flat and slides up to the correct note. Very annoying and amateurish, even (and especially) if on purpose.
