Those are some nice LPs... can we get some details as to when and where they were made? I'd guess the left one to be a Samick, based on the tailpiece placement...

RotcanX - "Samick, based on the tailpiece placement"???? Dang Man, You certainly have an eye....As I posted on this forum or the old one, the one on the left has no serial number, and after inquiry Jerrymac guesstimated it to be a Samick made in the late 80's. I've had it for 10 years or so, but can't even remember where I got it or how much I paid for it!!! (Maybe a '60's bubble bust)..But it's a player with a thin profile neck with extremely low action...The one on the right is a Gibby '59 RI that was purchased by a friend, I think in the early 90's...The day these pics were taken, we were doing the Epi/Gibby gunfight at the OK Corral. At the end of the day, and we both agreed on this - My waaaaaaaay less expensive Epi held it's ground with exception that the Gibby had a muddier sound at the bridge pup..Gotta love it Here's a pic of the headstocks...............J

By the way' date=' my Epi, (I thought) was called a Dark Burst and that Gibby he calls Tobacco Burst...How do I vote??....J[/quote']

That'd be Vintage Sunburst in both cases. Hmm I was pretty sure that the one on the right was a real one. Very nice. Incredible top on the Samick, that 'V' angled bookmatch really threw me. IMHO Samick made some of if not the best LPs to ever wear the Epiphone name.

I notice the totals come to 97%. :-s ...I guess the missing 3% is for the Goldtops. =P~
