charlie brown
Well, we're not sure what you mean by "what kind" of guitar? It's (obviously) an Epiphone "Les Paul Custom," (as denoted on your truss rod cover) single cutaway, solid body! And, by the serial number and sticker on the back of the headstock, made in (Saein Plant) Korea, in June 2005. Rosewood fingerboard, and standard LP Custom appointments. (You might want to remove the plastic from the top of the 2 Humbucking pickups, as that's for protection in shipping/transit, and not meant to be left in place.) Great guitar...congratulations. Hope that helps, but if you have other questions, this the the forum, to help. Cheers, CB

charlie brown
You're Welcome, Yang...And welcome to the Forum. Lots of good people here, with helpful information. As to "limited editions?" They are (mostly) marketing ploys...to sell more guitars, so don't infer too much, from the "limited edition" moniker. In the case of your guitar, it's probably due to the open humbuckers. Most customs, as you know, come with covered pickups. "Open coil" pickups are (quite often) a bit louder and/or more "open" sounding, in tone. Of course, some prefer that, and other's prefer the covered versions. Either is OK...just depends on your personal perferences. As to guitarists, that have used LP Customs, (Gibson's version)...Les Paul, Jimmy Page, Mick Ronson (David Bowie), Eric Clapton (on occasion), Peter Frampton, Ace Frehley, Warren Hayes, Jimi Hendrix, and many, many others. A lot of famous (and not so famous) guitarist have at least one, LP Custom, in their collection. Enjoy, CB

Everdying
actually what makes it so called limited edition is its use of chrome hardware and of cos the mirror pickguard as opposed to traditional gold for customs. basically, its trying to be a gibson john sykes LP. charlie brown
Yeah, Everdying, I didn't think about that, as I wasn't sure if he had changed out the metal parts, or it came like that. But, you're probably right! Good point! CB

Biff
I have one of those, too. I've changed the pickguard, knobs and pickups though. It was like this until today, I'm in the middle of installing Gibson Burstbuckers in it in right now.
Ricochet
A Limited edition in 2005.... a regular production LP in 2008... The Epiphone Les Paul Custom Chrome EB(Ebony) is virtually the same except it lost the LE stamp on the back of the headstock. http://www.thomann.de/nl/epiphone_lp_custom_chrome_eb_ltd.htm

JasonCO
at first look I thought it was a reflection of the string and just gave that impression due to the shape of the top....its hard to tell in that photo
charlie brown
But, wouldn't there be "reflections" of the other strings, as well? CB
