charlie brown
Yeah, so why can't we get those (Rivieras) here?! If they're still making them, what's the deal with not selling them, in the US?! If they're NOT still making them... WHY?!! Riviera, Sheraton, and Casino, are the best 3 Epiphone signature guitars, out there...IMHO! So...come on "Epi," bring back the Riviera with frequensator tailpiece and mini humbuckers, as well as a version with the Bigsby, and one with a "stop" tailpiece, too. Make us ALL happy! LOL! But to illustrate the weirdness introduced with Gibson's new distribution policy. My local dealer just received 10 brandnew MIK Rivieras! So in response to my question what the deal was(since they've been discontinued for some time now) he said they just had been sitting in the distributor's warehouse... BENT E
I bought the Riviera limited edition w. Bigsby summer 2007 in the Netherlands (€ 850' date='= with case). I currently have three, a metalic red Wildkat, quilt top tobacco burst LP, plus a sun burst AJ200S acoustic. All very fine guitars purchased from MF, without any issues other than a set~up to my liking. In regard to the Riviera, I also own one that was bought from MF on a blowout. The Bigsby on mine was added by yours truly. The truss rod cover was replaced with an after market BLK cover w/embossed E. I was inspired from a Riv' I saw on Dave's Guitars, a '66 Riviera w/Bigsby... Very Cool! The only problem is that the Bigsby made the guitar a bit to heavy in the body. I figure someday to try to equalize the weight with a set of Grover Rotomatics. Other than that, a sweet guitar, at a great price!
