vl2db
Hi Guys just found the forum and was hopeing someone with a knowledge of Epi's could help me identify a Casino with the serial number of ROOB 0348. I have read here where there are fake Epiphones being sold and after finally saving enough money to buy a second hand Epiphone Casino it did not occur to me that there are unauthorized copies out there! Hope someone can help. From the land of the long white cloud.

Dunno if this is right or not' date=' but ..... if you plug your serial number into http://www.guitardaterproject.org/epiphone.aspx (I'm guessing those "O's" you listed are actually 0's, making it [b']r00b0348[/b]), which gives you this result : "Your guitar was made at the Peerless Plant, Korea February 2000 Production Number: 0348" The original number you listed doesn't work, and I don't think epi ever used 4 letters in a serial number.....I could be wrong....hope this is of some help, right or wrong
Notes_Norton
I've got a Sept, 2001 Peerless Casino and it's a beauty. If yours is like mine, you've got a very nice guitar. Congratulations. BTW, the Epiphone Factory codes can be found here: http://epi.p3net.net/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23 - and it is a "sticky" so it will stay posted there as long as the Wiki site is up. Insights and incites by Notes Oh, and you gave me an excuse to post a pic of my MIK (Korea/Peerless) Casino and my MIK (Kalamazoo) ES-

vl2db
Thanks guys for the quick response and the info about the links. Seems like this guitar is the real deal. Makes me wonder though how long before the copies are exactly like the guitars they imitate?
kwillits
My brother returned an Epiphone Casino to me with the serial number 2041774. It is badly in need of some new potentiometers. The wiring is covered with braid and the old pot are in cans. My first question is, how old is the instrument? Second question is, how do I get the old pots out? So far both pickups and the pickup selector switch came through the neck pickup hole which appears to be the largest hole. However the pots are a different matter. Yeah I finally figured where the strings were grounded.
