MY LEFTY DOT

I'd like to thank everyone who's posts I've read to help me with my dot. I did my research and bought a used 04 dot w/case for $299.00. I stripped her down and added the following up grades:

2 Sprague .022 Orange drop capacitors $3.00

4 CTS 500K pots $18.76

Aged black speed knobs $9.58

Switchcraft toggle and 1/4 jack $18.50

2 Seymour Duncan "Phat Cat" P90 pups $160.00

Gotoh Nickel Bridge/Tailpiece $38.73

Grover "Keystone" tuners $45.06

So for a total of $660.00 including labor and shipping, I've got one fine guitar. I'd also like to say that the fit and finish on this dot is close to perfect. The stain really lets the maple show through and the inside is clean and glue less.

I got all of my supplies at www.guitarpartsresource.com and www.stewmac.com

Thanks again, here's a pic

Thanks everyone, couldn't have done it with all the folks who've taken the time to share what they've learned. It does sound sweet, I'm playing through a Peavey Delta Blues with a Eurotube set of JJ's, for lots of clean headroom and a Weber Vintage series 15F150, 50W, ceramic speaker. As Dave Edmund's once said, "the only effect I use is the cord to my amp"

Bet it sounds nice on the second sunday of the fifth month when the moon is in full lunar eclipse.

Orange drops' date=' gee what an original idea. Are they from Florida?[/quote']

You really are an ***. You insult the memory of Groucho with your witless diatribe.
