My first Gibson... SG faded...

I've usually played Rickenbackers, then Casino's and then I saw this SG Faded on craigslist. I LOVE IT!

 

But...

 

I think the pickups are a little hot. I'd like it to be able to clean up a little more. I was thinking of putting a pair of '57 classics in...

 

any advice here?

I'm thinking of putting a '57 classic in the treble position, because I think it's a little muddy. I think the rhythm pickup sounds fine.

I've been told there is very little difference between the 490t and the 57 classics,not enough to swap them.They do come very close to each other on the chart on Gibsons website
