casino elitist rod cover - what does it say? - pad printed? - where to buy?

hey guys

i have a 2000 standard epiphone casino.

i didnt like the 'e' sticker on the pickguard or the 'pad printed' e on the rod cover.

i pulled the sticker on the pickguard (actually it fell off - it must have known i didnt like it) and i used 'orange power sticky remover' to remove the pad printed 'e' from the rod cover.

i would like to get one of the following:

a rod cover the same shape as the oiginal with either 'casino' engraved (preferable) or 'gibson' engraved (second preference) or the epiphone 'e' engraved (third preference) on it.

i have seen that the elitist casinos have a TRC with something written on it - i cant see exactly what it says but it looks like it says 'gibson' on it - is this an engraving or pad printed? - can someone pls confirm what it actually says? - and does anyone know where you can buy one of these from?

here is a picture of the casino with the TRC that i am talking about > http://www.guitarworld.com/epiphone

thanks very much

Just curious here...........you keep mentioning how much you'd like the TRC to resemble the one on an Elitist.

You're not planning on smoking someone by selling it at an inflated price now are ya?

Because if you don't change several other things, you're wasting your time.

It'll show up as a smoke job to anybody that knows ANYTHING about Epis.

does anyone know what font is used on the original gibson trc's that say 'stereo' among other things?

http://archtop.com/PageMill_Resources/Guitars/68es345_hd.jpg

bender, my main problem with the TRC is that the pad printed 'e' looked so cheap that it had to go - i think it only lasted a couple of days since after i bought it all those years ago.

if the 'e' was engraved or lasered out like the gibson TRCs then i wouldnt have a problem with it.

i think i will get it lasered out to say 'casino' in the same style as the gibson TRCs that say 'stereo'

and no i am not trying to rip anyone off - i wrote all of my best songs on this guitar - its not going anywhere.

thanks again

The Epi Elite (predecessor to Elitist) LP used an engraved "Gibson" TRC. It is the standard Gibson LP bell shaped one.

TRCs seem to lack an "industry standard practice" with Epi. Over the years Epi has used a variety of TRCs on any model produced. Almost like a whatever they had on hand if it fit then it went on, kind of approach. It may matter to collectors/purists but you said your Casino is a keeper, so if I were you I would buy the engraved Gibson one that you want most and never look back. If you can't find it aftermarket, then pay a couple rupees more direct from a Gibson authorized dealer.

Hit every BLUE NOTE baaaby..., I'm going to play on:-"

Billybob, the Casino in that link is in fact an Elitist, which is why it has the Grover tuners and 16th fret neck/body join. For some unknown reason they used a photo of the wrong model to promote the standard line, the actual standard model would have a 17th fret neck/body join and a large White pad printed "E" on it`s three screw TRC. Hope that is of help for you.
