"Inspired by John Lennon" Casinos

Saw an interesting (Item) ;>), on Sweetwater's NAMM 2009

highlights, of Epiphone's new models...and they used

this "Inspired by John Lennon" Casino thing...

What I'm wondering is, if this is a "new" product on it's own,

or a new "batch" beyond the 1965 number (each), originally contracted

for. Does it retain all the Lennon features, including case, case

candy, certificate, etc. Or, is it a new (less expensive?) version,

of Casino, with most of the features, but without the collectable

extra's and his actual serial number?

Anyone one know?

that would be interesting..... Why not eliminate all the case case candy, though I think it's pretty cool to have. My JL Rev already has slight buckle rash because it's the one I play 80% of the time... Cant wait to finish my Les Paul Jr. JL project so I can give the Rev a timeout

Hi, new on here. I'd be interested to hear about your Les Paul jr JL project. I have a 91 LPjr with a tuneomatic that I've been thinking about modding. A problem seems to be the appearance of the CCpickup, eg Lollar version, under the scratchplate as it doesn't extend right across. Hope that makes sense:-s

I purchased my CC pup at vintagevibeguitars.... My CC pup is very similar to the Lollar.... The larger cavity will be routed in the back of the guitar, so that the routed cavity on the top of the guitar will not extend past the top bobbin of the pickup... I'll post pics of the routing.

So' date=' does anyone know anything about the "Inspired by John Lennon" Casinos? Are they going to be made

in China, or Memphis/Nashville, or Japan?

Epiphone Inspired by John Lennon Casino

Epiphone's Inspired by John Lennon Casino semi-hollowbody electric guitar looks and sounds like the same model that the legendary Beatle used to write and perform an incredible body of songs. The Inspired by John Lennon Casino features a maple/birch body, a maple top, a mahogany neck, and two P-90 pickups that provide that signature British Invasion jangle - but can go from mellow to growling when you want them to.

Epiphone Inspired by John Lennon Casino Semi-hollowbody Electric Guitar Features:

The same great looks, feel, and tone as Lennon's famous instrument

Maple/birch body, maple top, and mahogany neck

Rosewood fingerboard with parallelogram inlays

Great-sounding P-90 pickups

Tune-o-matic bridge with nylon saddles

If it comes equipped with the ABR1 bridge and Gibson P-90 pups, I would dare to say it would be of Japanese construction... but tune-o-matic and great sounding p-90 pups has China written all over it..... But who knows

Perhaps it was the ad campaign that was "Inspired by the John Lennon Casino"?

Yeah, that's what I'm trying to find out...if it's just a different ad, for the same "Lennon" series,

OR, if there's another Casino, that's being offered, with "Lennon" specs/touches, but made

in China, Korea, or Japan...and at more reasonable price point, for us "Poh Foke!" :>b

Seems a bit strange, they wouldn't be more forthcoming, if it was a new version??? Who knows?

I'm putting my money on chinese manufacture.

I think they could only say inspired by to get permission to do use lennons name.

I think they're going to offer a guitar much like his, and a lower price point, and it seems to me

to be a good choice that will sell pretty well and pretty fast.
