just over a year ago i saw one on ebay and that was the last one i saw, howver i was after the dot at the time, i really regret that now.

i have been thinking about swapping one over but have been advised not to by many, is this a good idea?

I'm one of the fortunate few that owns a lefty MIK Casino. I held mine the way a righty would and didn't like it; the pots and pickup selector are just below my shoulder and would be in the way. Yes, one could work around it like Sir Paul, but I wouldn't buy a righty and flip it. You might consider buying a Dot and switching out the humbucker pickups for Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90's that will fit humbucker routing. Some folks would say that the result is better than a Casino; a P90-equipped guitar with Dot center block to reduce feedback. I just added an upgraded wiring assembly (thicker wires, Orange Drop capacitors, CTS pots and quality pickup selector) and a bone nut and would definitely recommend those mods to any Epiphone owners.

that is very good advice :-

never thought about putting P-90s in my dot.

and if i added the bigsby as well... do you think that would be good?

All I know about Bigbys is that you'd need to get a left-handed one. You might start a new topic asking about experiences others have had. Here is a video of a guy installing one on a Dot:
