AS90
The more expensive one is an Elitist Casino, its a far better guitar. Just google epiphone elite and you will see what I mean.
antwhi2001
The more expensive Elite or Elitist Epiphones are Japanese-made to higher standards, comparable to the original USA-made vintage Epis. The cheaper one is standard Epiphone Chinese production; everything is slightly lower spec but still not bad guitars for the price.
Bender 4 Life
The 2 previous answers are 100% correct, but, they left out the "meaning" of the difference, besides just price. If you buy the Elite Casino, you'll have a very well made, and assembled guitar, that you could most likely use as is, right out of the box, for about any playing situation you can imagine. If you buy the "Standard" Casino, you get a guitar thats made of cheaper materials, with much LESS (if any) actual quality control at the mfg. plant. It will have blemishes, and every appointment on it (tuners, pickups, wiring, switches, etc.) will be low grade fare. Before you can actually use it, you'll either have to take it to a pro for an extensive "set up" or do the following yourself........ check and adjust neck, it will not be straight..............re-cut at least 2 nut slots(they just can't get with the program on this issue)...... adjust bridge height to desired string height........set & level high frets causing "buzz" at new string height........set intonation (bridge saddles) so it stays in tune the length of the neck.........check and tighten all connectors(possibly replace a few faulty potientiometers and maybe the 3-way switch), switches, the jack, etc. I recently bought my LAST standard Epi.........the quality has taken a nosedive. From now on, its either Elite models, or i'll spend more and buy from Gibson, or somebody else.

But I got a Casino last year, and I think you're being a bit harsh. Yes, the hardware is of lower quality than a Gibson, but mine is a very nice, very playable and good-looking instrument. And the nut is fine. Mine is a "Limited Edition" with a Bigsby, but I'm not sure that means it's any better than any other production model.
