Albannach
I was asked if I could post some photographs of what might be an '81 Korean manufactured Sheraton that I have decided to revive after lying in it's case for 5 years and having suffered much abuse before that, not by me, I might add! So get out the nerve calming tablets, sit down, have a stiff drink or whatever you need to get over the shock of this! You were warned, not a pretty site at all! As you can see the bridge was a mess, the PUs are now unpotted waiting on finishing polishing and then embedded with an 65/35 wax. The body? God only knows what that will turn out to be like but time is on my side. The wiring to say the least is 'basic / budget' in quality. One thing I noticed about the tuners is that they have individual casting IDs located next to the screw fixing holes. The idioms - 'Things Take Time' and 'Time Heals All Wounds' apply to this sorry item.
MykWiz
Even though it's beat to hell, that thing has TONS of mojo (at least in the pictures)! Have fun bringing that thing back to life! ~MW
brianh
Goodonya for adopting a stray and rehabilitating her. I'll bet she'll pay you back in spades...
TP
Please keep the photos coming on this project. I am thinking of having someone do roughly the same thing to my Casino (except I am going to leave the stock P90's alone as I really do like them). I would love to see a detailed photo essay on swapping out the electronics and wiring.
Guest
That is an E-by-G that needs some love, do you have the serial number it 1986-1988 Musikron has to see this.....he may be able to give you tips on bringing it back to its former glory. We likes our E-by-G's Allbannach You might be interested in this thread http://forums.epiphone.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=13095
peeper
Nice score! Do you have access to a machine shop? It will help to revive that bridge. It also looks as if it's had a headstock or neck repair, I haven't seen one all blacked out like that before.

It also looks as if it's had a headstock or neck repair' date=' I haven't seen one all blacked out like that before.[/quote'] Musikron my 87 baccy burst E-by-G is black at the back of the headstock and base of neck exactly like Allbannach's it might be the way they were painting them then...I reckon the guitar in question is an 88 but I need to see inside the bridge cavity to see if it has the access cutaway. From the photos posted it looks like Slaweks E-by-G in the bridge route and his is Aug 88 I think... Left my 1989 Sheraton and on the right my 1987 E-by-G Sheraton (this has really brought home to me how different they are even though they are both Baccy Burst....) this the front view Left my 1987 E-by-G Sheraton and on the right my 1989 Sheraton The back is much darker on the E-by-G

Guest
Albannach With it being an E-by-G organising the electrics should be easy has you should have far better access than other Sheratons which have to be accessed through the f holes you should have access via you bridge route like this: I don't know if you are good with a soldering iron and want to make a new harness yourself but you may want to consider this delivered to your door for a total price including postage of $80 http://bcsguitars.com/?page_id=
