First of all, hello everyone. My first post and I am already asking for help!

I do apologise if this should have gone somewhere else.

I have recently bought an Epiphone Les Paul type guitar. I have had a good look around but cannot find any LP's that dont have Les Paul on the headstock.

Can anyone help ID this for me please? (It's Korean made in '97.)

Thanks, Steve.

Looks like an LP-100 to me. No binding or 'Les Paul' on the headstock. Has it got a bolt-on neck? If it does it's an LP-100.

All the photos of LP-100's I have seen have Les Paul on the headstock though.

Not the older ones. The way I understand it' date=' Les Paul's original endorsement deal only included the Epiphone versions of the Gibson models, it did not include the cheaper bolt neck LP-100. Not only was there no signature on the headstock, it was designated LP instead of Les Paul. In fact, the official model was LP-100 Studio. Sometime around the turn of the millennium, Les Paul's sig was added to the headstock.
