tpurgatoryt
So i went to a Guit' shop today who specialise in gibson guitars and parts (rather rare in australia, well i think so) they do gibson aswell, but they only sell gibby parts so i went there bought some black top hat knobs with silver ontop, 20 dollers, and i went to buy two chrome pup covers, but there guitar tech said that gibby covers wont fit on my g-310 due to the pole piece size diffrence, so i guess i must resort to buying some suitable pup covers off of the net, can you guys tell me what sort of covers i need, like 50mm, 48mm etc. and also provide a link from a well known seller who ships world wide, thanks guys. animalfarm
A fast glance at my 2008 Epi catalog tells me that a G-310 comes with 650R (neck) and 700T (bridge) pups. My LP Special II project git has the same. Sooooooo, quick check with machinist's ruler says: Bridge pole spacing - 52mm = 2 & 1/16" Neck pole spacing - 50mm = 1 & 15/16" You'll have to do some research to find a dealer either in OZ or who ships to OZ. My initial search shows these folks ship international - http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/guitar_index.htm Link to Pickup Cover page - Prices don't look too bad... http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/covers_humbucker.htm Start yourself a reference Binder, and soon you'll be able to pass info on to others!!!! Sjael
sorry but i dont understand there measurements' date=' example "pole spacing is 1-15/16" for the neck and 2-1/16" for the bridge"[/quote'] It's telling you that the distance between the center of each of the outermost polepieces is 1 and 15/16ths of an inch for the neck and 2 and 1/16th for the bridge. Damn Americans with their super accurate fractions of inches. :)

I follow the Amory Wars, but I honestly must say I'm not a huge fan of it, nor the novel - I love Claudio's songwriting, but his normal writing leaves a lot to be desired. :- I'm not really a comic fan, either. AnthemBassMan
-Or a standard spaced cover for the neck, and an F-Spaced cover for the bridge. You should pick up a 6"/150mm steel rule. One piece of equipment EVERYONE should own if they like working on and/or modding guitars. L8R, Matt
