Why are Epiphone hard cases always out of stock?

Seems everywhere in the UK is out of stock of the official Epiphone case to fit a Sheraton, everyone is offering the Gator case instead, Is it decent? Can anyone find a proper Epiphone case in stock anywhere?

Hey, you can't build up all that formaldehyde smell overnight. [wink] Seriously, I waited about a month and a half for the case for my Joe Pass. I just kept it in a gig bag until the case came in. Aside from the initial smell, I'm very happy with it.

When i received my new LUCILLE & GATOR 335 case...

i found a tag on the inside of the case that said

Made in China and.... GATOR forgot to throw the

keys in the case toboot... so i EMailed them...

and they sent me two PAIRS of keys.

I think that case is nothing spectacular...

It has the usual flexible plastic stuff and

the aluminum edges seems like they could

probably bend pretty EZ if rough handled.

But, that's life.

The case is pretty... but has black fuzzy stuff

on the inside.

The LUCILLE fits inside like a glove.

Would i buy the GATOR case again...

not sure, not really sure...

and yes...

I had to buy this case or nothing...

as the Epiphone cases were out of stock here too !!!

I think it's a conspiracy, that's what i think...

hee hee...

CHEEKS

ps - I have a dreadnought case i bought from another

webstore about six months earlier.

That case has keys too... and... would you believe

that those keys FIT the GATOR hardcase locks also.

The same Chinese keys fit ALL MY CASES !

If the case tag says made in china, the keys will fit it.

China has ONE KEY.... that's it !

True story, try it yourself... and laugh laugh laugh...

ONE KEY unlocks any chinese case so far....

The "Thomann" ES-git-case is also well-made , I think it's made by "Rock-Case" (Warwick)

and it's cheap

I can vouch for Rockcase cases. I have my Les Paul and Explorer in Rockcases, I easily rate them better than my Acoustic's SKB case, and I can't picture the Epiphone cases being any better really. (They are never in stock in NZ, either  [tongue])

After I got my Casino, I went looking for a case. My local Guitar Center did not have the Epi cse in stock. But the sales

guy assured me a TKL for an Ibanez Artcore would fit. The sides fit it. I bouth it and took it home. When I looked at it

in the case, there was space under the body, so the whole guitar was supported by the end of the neck just below the headstock.

The next day I returned it and found GC had the Epi case on their website. I ordered it and it fits like a glove.

I haven't noticed any odors other complain about either.

TKL cases are fine. I have one for my EJ200. However, if you buy a different case than an Epi, make sure you can put your

guitar in it before you buy it to see if it fits correctly.

It happens on this side of the pond as well. I bought my Dot about 2 1/2 weeks ago, shop was out of hard cases, and I haven't heard from them yet when they will be in. I may end up getting one from GC or Sweetwater instead.

I have a Gator 335 case and an Epi 335 case. My Sherry won't fit in the Gator case, so I put it in the Epi case. I lucked out when I got my Sherry cause they had an Epi case. Not so for my Dot. The Epi case wa on back order for like 4-5 months. I gave up and got the Gator. It's a nice case, but I didn't like the neck angle over the brace in the case, so I modified it but putting some padding under the body with a little black material from Joanns and it is good to go now. It is a tight fit with the headstock though. I would have much rather gotten the Epi case.
