BlueMeanie
I have a Lennon Inspired Epi Casino that i use quite often. I always clean the pickups and other nickel hardware every time after use. Then i go on vacation for 3 weeks, when i opened my case i saw that the nickel hardware (pickups) had some stains..sort of like oxidation stains that don't come off with any cleaner i could find.. I had to have it re-buffed by a friend but i have no idea why that happened.. i have never had any problems with my other guitars with chrome on the pickups.. The tuners also had that type of fingerprint stains but it just rubbed off with some cloth. Help! How do i take care of nickel on my guitar? Is there a cleaner out there that can clean AND prevent the stains from happening again? What do you guys use for prevention? Thanks and any help would be greatly appreciated! Best, Luis You could try National ResoPhonic Guitars' Nickel-Aide. It's intended for tarnish prevention of nickel, steel, and brass hardware. http://store.nationalguitars.com/nickle-aide.aspx Cheers

BillyGibson
I thought the oxidation added to the vintage look and one of the reasons for going with it vs. chrome that never dulls.

amx05462
nickel vs chrome chrome is always brighter. nickel is whiter chrome has a bit of bluish tint. that you cant see unless there side by side. i clean both with windex. workes well on the harley chrome too. just about anything else is abrasive.
