Bursty
? Im thinking about a build, and or, just having one put on a historic when i get it. Im afraid there might not be any left by the time I get it, so, I want to get one by the end of the year.

RS Guitarworks and Historic Makeovers. Check them out. Good luck
Bob Marsh
My employer has a limited stash of Brazillian fingerboards, completely legal, old growth from wood purchased from the furniture industry many years ago. They vary in grade from ordinary to unbelievable. Here are a couple photos for your reference. While the more figured blanks are not inexpensive he has some that can be had quite reasonably. PM me on the forum if your interested in contact information. Cheers, and good luck in your search
CR9
One of the places I have found, but not bought from, is Hanover Brazil. They have CITES certified wood and it is important to have the documentation if you would ever want anyone to believe you have Brazilian Rosewood. daveinspain
Is Brazilian Rosewood just for the beauty of it or does it make a difference in the play/sound/feel?
Tim Plains
Dave, not all Brazilian is the same. I have two guitars with it. One feels like every other piece of rosewood. The other feels more like ebony. I doubt you'd be able to hear much, or any, of a difference.
383roller
I have a guitar with an ebony board and one with a BRW board, both very similar but the ebony seems a bit faster to me. As to the OP I would suggest maybe scouring eBay for old off brand guitar that you can pick up for cheap that may have one.
L5Larry
I've got a vintage guitar dealer friend that bought a bunch of BRW blanks years ago just for this reason. PM me if you would like me to see what he has left and the price.
pfox14
WOW! Those are some pretty FBs. Are they for sale?
Whitehall
Stew Mac used to sell LP Braz boards for $49.00. And they sold them for years. That's why I never really got what all the fuss was about.
